Shameless self-promotion I made my debut as a food critic in the Rocky today, sampling a neat little place near LoDo. If you're stumbling around there late night and need a protein/carb infusion, the buffet's open midnight-3 Friday and Saturdays. This will not become a regular gig, but it's fun.

Sometime in February, I'll be convinced that "This is our country," too I suppose folks got tired of Bob Seger at some point as well. Here's a great trivia item for you: Which L.A.-based band competed with Seger for the Chevy endorsement in the '80s (and eventually lost)? Here's the answer , and the song was the title of a live CD put out in this decade. They remain one of the best live acts ever. BTW, I can find nothing online referring to the Chevy commercial, but I damn sure heard it at the time. Meantime, check out John Mellencamp's latest composition .

BTW, what's up with Blogger? Apparently they don't allow a commenter's name to link to a website any longer. Noticed that on a few different sites.
It did start out as a slur, a regional version of white trash. It somehow got cachet over the years. Don't know why.
As for Blogger, you can thank Google for the weirdness. Since Google absorbed Blogger, it's easier to do some things (load photos, set up comments, and dink around with your template). The trade-off is, as you've found, commenters can't link to web sites.
